Pamela S. Saur received her M.A. and Ph.D. in German from the University of Iowa, and an M.Ed. degree in ESL Studies from the University of Massachusetts at Boston. Her university studies also included summer residence at the University of Minnesota Deutsches Haus, her junior year abroad at the University of Vienna/Institute of European Studies, and summer French language study at the University of Paris.
Her fulltime teaching experience, in German and English, includes four years at Auburn University at Montgomery and 27 years at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. At Lemar she was awarded the titles of University Scholar, University Professor, Texas State System Regents’ Professor, and Distinguished Professor Emerita.
She has presented at many national and international conferences, held offices in professional organizations, and published numerous scholarly articles, encyclopedia entries, book reviews, and monographs, including English translations of four German literary works published by Ariadne Press in Riverside, California. Her studies on Gerhard Roth include several presentations at academic conferences and essays in scholarly journals, reference works, and books of collected essays. (2022)
