Cornelius Partsch

Cornelius Partsch is Professor of German in the Department of Modern & Classical Languages at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. He received his MA and PhD in German Studies from Brown University and previously taught at Hamilton, Colby, Smith, and Mount Holyoke Colleges. He has published two textbooks for German. His research is in 20th- and 21st-century cultural studies and has resulted in a book publication on jazz and popular music in the Weimar Republic and articles on various aspects of German popular culture, including film, sports, and popular fictions. He has worked as a translator for a variety of purposes. His translations of scholarly and fictional texts have appeared in Daedalus and The New England Review.
