Robert Gillett

Robert Gillett is Reader in German and Comparative Cultural Studies at Queen Mary University of London, where he also heads the Cultural Transfer Section of the Centre for Anglo-German Cultural Relations. As well as teaching poetry and translation, he has published widely on German-language literature, with particular emphasis on the period between 1945 and 1989. He is also a committed feminist with a special interest in all things queer. A critical edition of the poems of Adolf Endler, edited with Astrid Köhler, appeared with Wallstein in Göttingen in 2019.

His translations of poems by Friederike Mayröcker have appeared in Austrian Studies, and he has translated poems by Sudabeh Mohafez (The Feather Duster Song, weiw, Amsterdam 2019) and Ulf Stolterfoht (Living London, House Publishing, London, forthcoming).   (2019)
