Milena Sanabria Contreras holds a bachelor’s degree in cultural sciences and Spanish philology, as well as a master’s degree in comparative literature and art at the University of Potsdam, Germany. She has worked as a translator from Spanish, English, and German since 2012.
Sanabria Contreras translated the catalogs The Aura Returns for the photographer Valentina Murabito and Elia Arce for the performance artist of the same name, as well as the documentary film Lifting the Green Screen. Her literary translations have appeared in the anthology Frontera/Border.
She is currently pursuing an MFA in Literary Translation at the University of Iowa, where her interests focus on German and Latin American literature. (2022)
