Novelist, poet, translator, and journalist Martin Amanshauser was born in Salzburg, Austria in 1968. He has published several novels, a book of poetry, and innumerable travel essays.
Amanshauser’s major works include the novels Peanut Butter (1998), Nile (2001), Everything Never Works Out (2005), and Fish in a Matchbox (2015); a book of poetry titled 100,000 Copies Sold (2002); and several volumes of travel essays originally written as a weekly column for the Austrian newspaper Die Presse. Chicken Christl (2004) is one of Amanshauser’s earlier novels.
He lives in Vienna.
