Mandy Olson grew up in Wyoming and now lives with her husband and son in the Pacific Northwest.
She has worked as a commercial and technical translator for over 15 years.
Mandy enjoys reading and translating contemporary literary fiction, including short stories, and has a particular fondness for Austrian authors who remind her of her time living in Salzburg. She is also interested in children’s picture books and middle grade novels.
Her sample translation of Rasha Khayat’s Weil wir längst woanders sind (Because We’re Elsewhere Now) was awarded the 2017 Gutekunst Prize of the Friends of Goethe New York. (2022)
