Lucy Renner Jones

Lucy Renner Jones (born 1968 in Welwyn, England) did several jobs before she became a translator. Until 2004, she worked in Barcelona, Hamburg and Berlin as a photographer. She went on to found the translators’ collective Transfiction in 2004 with Karen Witthuhn and was joined by Jenny Piening in 2012. She has translated two novels by Annemarie Schwarzenbach, and is working on texts by Silke Scheuermann and Brigitte Reimann. She has a BA in German and Film from UEA where she was tutored by W. G. Sebald, and completed an MA in Applied Linguistics in 2010. She writes reviews of German books in English for CULTurMAG and blogs at www.transfiction.eu/blog. (2014)
