Jake Schneider was born in 1988 in New Jersey and lives in Berlin. He received his bachelor’s degree in creative writing and European languages from Sarah Lawrence College, where he had the pleasure of studying under the poets Matthea Harvey, Marie Howe, Tina Chang, and Jeffrey McDaniel. His literary translations have appeared in Circumference, Washington Square, and the Massachusetts, Chicago, Boston, and Atlanta Reviews, among others. At age 23 he was awarded a literary translation fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, the youngest recipient to date. He works as a freelance translator and editor specializing in arts, culture, the social sciences, and of course literature. (2014)
