Michael Lentz (born in Birkesdorf, 1964) is a German author, musician, and performer of experimental texts and sound poetry. In 2001 he won the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize for his book Muttersterben. In May 2006 he was appointed professor at the University of Leipzig. His most recently published works are a play, Warum wir also hier sind, and Offene Unruh: 100 Liebesgedichte. (2011)
