Margarita Iov was born in Kiev in 1993 and grew up in Berlin. She took part in the 26th Treffen Junger Autoren (TJA) and is a grant recipient of the Niedersächsische Kulturstiftung, the 17th Klagenfurter Literaturkurs, and the TJA master class at the 2013 International Literature Festival in Berlin. Her work has been published in various anthologies as well as in Edit (#61). Her German translation of the war diaries of Russian photographer Yevgeny Khaldei was published in 2011 by Das neue Berlin. She has likewise taken part in numerous multimedia projects. She lives and studies creative writing in Leipzig at the Deutsches Literaturinstitut. (2013)
