Kate Brown

Kate Brown is a writer and translator living in Berlin.

She has translated from German, Dutch and French to English. She translates prose fiction and non-fiction, and also for film, TV, and theatre.

Her first novel The Women of Versailles was published by Seren Books in 2017. Her short stories have won prizes and been published widely.

She is a graduate of the UK’s National Film and Television School and has directed films and written screenplays. Kate was lucky enough to receive a 2020 Grant for Non-German Literature from the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Europe to allow her time to write her second novel, The Playing Field Diaries.                     (2021)
