Susanne Neuffer was born in Nürnberg, Germany, in 1951. She studied German Studies, Romance Studies and Theater Studies as well as Empirical Cultural Sciences at the University of Erlangen and the University of Tübingen.
She received the erostepost literary award in 2017, the residency scholarship at Brechthaus Svendborg in 2016, the Hamburg sponsorship award for literature and literary translation in 2014, second place in the MDR short-story competition 2011 for her story “Minna von Barnhelm war blau,” and the Walter-Serner award from Literaturhaus Berlin/RBB in 2007, among others.
The publishing house MaroVerlag has published six books of her writings: one volume of poetry, three short-story collections, one novel, and two novellas. Neuffer’s poetry and prose have also been published in anthologies and magazines such as Stadtgelichter, erostepost and the Hamburger ZIEGEL.
She resides in Hamburg where she is also a member of the Writer’s Room. (2022)
