Raphaela Edelbauer

Raphaela Edelbauer was born in Vienna in 1990 and grew up in Hinterbrühl in Lower Austria.

She studied Creative Writing at the University of Applied Arts, and was awarded first prize in the Rauriser Literaturtage 2018 as well as a year-long stipend from the German literature fund.

Raphaela Edelbauer won the highly acclaimed audience award at the Ingeborg Bachmann competition in 2018. In 2019 she received the Theodor-Körner-Preis.

THE FLUID LAND is her debut novel. It was on the shortlist for both the German Book Prize and the Austrian Book Prize, and has been selected by New Books in German (NBG).        (2020)
