Necati Öziri

Writer, dramaturg and curator Necati Öziri (born in 1988) studied philosophy, German, and contemporary German literature in Bochum, Istanbul, Olsztyn, and Berlin.

From 2013 to 2017, he was part of the dramaturgy team at Berlin’s Maxim Gorki Theater, where his play “Get Deutsch or die tryin'” premiered in 2017. Öziri has also written dramatic works for the Schauspielhaus Zürich, the Residenztheater in Munich, and the Nationaltheater in Mannheim.

His prose story “Tomorrow I’ll wake up and then life will start” won the KELAG and the audience prize at the Ingeborg Bachmann competition in 2021.                             (2022)
