Katja Oskamp was born in 1970 in Leipzig and grew up in Berlin.
After studying theatre studies, she worked as a playwright at the Volkstheater Rostock and studied at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig. Her most successful book to date is Marzahn Mon Amour, in which a failing writer retrains as a chiropodist and tells the stories of her aging clients in Marzahn, once the largest prefabricated housing estate in the GDR.
