Katja Brunner

Katja Brunner was born 1991 in Zurich, Switzerland.

She studied Literary writing in Biel/Bienne (CH) and dramatic writing at the University of the Arts Berlin. Her play of legs too short was awarded the renowned Mülheimer Dramatikerpreis in 2013.

Since then, Brunner has been writing plays, essays, articles and performing in various contexts, such as with her group INSTITUT FÜR CHAUVINISTISCHE WEITERBILDUNG. Her plays have been translated into many languages and have been staged around the world. She also writes essays for various newspapers and magazines.

Currently, she is a guest professor at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig and is working on a spoken word album.    (2020)
