Eva Schmidt

Eva Schmidt (b. 1952) lives in Bregenz, Austria.

She is the author of several collections of short stories, three novels, and various radio plays.

Her debut novel, Zwischen der Zeit, appeared in 1997, after which she waited almost 20 years before releasing her second novel, Ein langes Leben. This was shortlisted for the 2016 Deutscher Buchpreis; her third novel, Die untalentierte Lügnerin, was longlisted in 2019.

Eva Schmidt has received numerous awards, including the Hermann-Hesse-Förderpreis and the Nicolas-Born-Preis. She also translates literature from Italian.
