Carolin Callies

Carolin Callies, born in Mannheim in 1980, lives in Ladenburg near Heidelberg. She trained as bookseller for Suhrkamp Verlag, and studied German Literature and Media Studies in Mannheim. She was subsequently a program assistant at Literaturhaus Frankfurt and is currently responsible for organizing readings for the publisher Schöffling & Co. Her work has been published in periodicals (Bella triste, Allmende, POET, Neue Rundschau) and anthologies (“Jahrbuch der Lyrik” in 2011, 2013, 2015, “Trakl und wir: Fünfzig Blicke in einen Opal,”“Lyrik-Taschenkalender 2015”). In 2009 she participated in the 17th Open Mike (Berlin) and the Literarische März competition in 2015. Her first collection of poetry, Five Senses & Just One Cutlery Tray [“fünf sinne & nur ein besteckkasten”], was published by Schöffling & Co. in the spring of 2015. She was recently awarded the Thaddäus Troll Prize
