Anja Kampmann

Anja Kampmann was born in Hamburg and resides in Leipzig.

She studied at the University of Hamburg and at the German Institute for Literature in Leipzig.

Proben von Stein und Licht, her first poetry collection, appeared with Hanser in 2016, followed by a novel, Wie hoch die Wasser steigen (2018). A second poetry collection, Der Hund ist immer hungrig, is forthcoming. She is the winner of the Mara Cassens Prize and the Bergen-Enkheim Prize, and has been nominated for the Leipzig Book Fair Prize, the German Book Prize, and the National Book Award (USA).                     [2020]
