| W. Martin (translation editor,
no man's land issue # 1) has published translations
from German and Polish, including a new version of Erich Kästner's
Emil and the Detectives (Overlook Press, forthcoming 2007), and works
by Kathrin Röggla, Kleist, and Günter Grass in magazines and anthologies.
He co-edited Chicago Review's "New Writing in German" issue
in 2002. He is currently translating Michal Witkowski's novel Lubiewo
and writing a doctoral dissertation on socialist film comedy in East Germany
and Poland. He lives in Chicago and Berlin. |
